Malaria prevalence declines in Mtwara.

Tanzanian government collaboration with other Malaria stakeholders has extended its effort to fight the killer disease in a bid to reduce death by one percent comes 2020.
In ensuring that the goals is met, the government in collaboration with several stakeholder yesterday launched program for distribution of treated mosquito net to women and children under age of nine month.
Launching the program, Mtwara Regional Commissioner, Halima Dendego urged pregnant to attend clinic so as they could be advise appropriately including security  treated mosquito nets.
The RC further insisted on environmental cleanliness so as to prevent the possibility of new born mosquitoes as part of war against malaria for new born babies and pregnant women
“As per the regional statistics, Malaria prevalence as gown down from 33 percent in 2007/2008 to 17 percent in 2011/2012 and nationally from 33 percent in 2007/2008 to 9 percent in 2015,”Said the RC Dendego
“The national target is to reduce malaria prevalence to 5 percent by 2017 and 1 percent by 2020, therefore it is our obligation to ensure that we implement the national projection,’

On the pert, the deputy director for heath matters in USAIDMs Ana Memba said the partnership between two governments in the fight against malaria by 50 percent in Tanzania mainland and and by 1 percent in Zanzibar
“The United States of Amerce understand the war against this killer disease and thus the President’s fund on the fight against this vice is collaboration with Tanzanian government have so far manage to a great  extent  to reduce deaths in the quest to get rid of the disease.” She said Memba
The representative of Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and children, Helen Semu said the government would continue with its effort to create awareness in the community on the need to sleep into mosquito treated net so that the attained 85 percent can now go yonder to 100 percent.
“As government, we shall try our level best to create awareness compaing so as the community can continue using mosquito treated nets in the fight against death that are caused by malaria, ”Said Semu

The program on the use of mosquito treated for children and pregnant women dubbed Chandarua Kliniki’ replace the Program to subsidize the mosquito net and it is under supervision of VectorWokers in collaboration with the government of Tanzania under the sponsorship of the US Government thorough USAID
